The successful filmmaker will direct Varun, whereas Rohit will assist him on the project
It seems the Dhawans are going the Deols way! In a casting coup of sorts, Ekta Kapoor has managed to rope in the three Dhawans – two to direct and one to act! For the past few months, strong buzz doing the industry rounds suggested that the Student Of The Year actor Varun Dhawan will star in Balaji Motion Pictures' next, which will be directed by his filmmaker father David Dhawan. And it's official now.
Ekta Kapoor has finalised Varun as the lead star of her film Tu Mera Hero. Rohit Dhawan who made his debut as a filmmaker with the Akshay Kumar-John Abraham starrer Desi Boyz, will assist his dad in this project. The heroine is yet to be finalised. It's learnt that David will soon start scouting for locations which is very close to his heart. Our feathered friend tells us that Tu Mera Hero will not be a typical David Dhawan film; it will have lot of romance as well. The romcom is scheduled to go on floors in June this year.
Though it's like ghar ki baat for the three Dhawans, one can't ignore the pressure mounting on them considering it's their first project together. All the best Dhawans!
