Supern Verma directed and Bipasha Basu and
Nawazuddin Siddhique starrer 'Aatma' had a lukewarm start at the box-office.
Despite receiving good remarks from critics, the film could not start off well
at the box-office. In the opening Friday, 'Aatma' could make only Rs 1.50
crores at the domestic box-office.
Last week release, 'Jolly LLB' is still running
strong at the box-office and 'Aatma' failed to compete with the last release.
The numbers are bit higher in single screens as compared to multiplexes.
The other release 'Rangrezz' also failed to score
high at the box-office. Though both the films are of different genre, still
audience is not showing interest. For Bipasha Basu factor, cine-goers are showing
some interest in the horror flick but 'Rangrezz' totally doomed at the
box-office.
Today being a Saturday, it is hoped that the
collection might pick up on Saturday and Sunday and it will give an impressive first
weekend collection.
'Aatma' is an unconventional horror flick. The
story revolves around a single mother and her daughter. Their happy life turns
hell when the girl child is haunted by ghost.
