This energetic roller-coaster ride stars Ram Kapoor and Saqib Saleem in the lead
The two-film old Yash Raj Films' banner Y-Films, responsible for promoting young talent, is out with their third venture, which looks like a mad-cap teeny bopper ride. Titled Mere Dad ki Maruti, the film stars popular television actor Ram Kapoor, along with Saqib Saleem, Huma Qureshi's brother who made his debut with Muhjse Fraaandship Karoge.
The movie, set in Delhi, is a youthful flick about a young, wayward guy Sameer, who loses his father's car. His father played by Ram Kapoor, is a typical hot-headed character who is always ready with the choicest of curses for his good-for-nothing son.
So, one day when Sameer loses his father's grand ol' Maruti, all hell breaks loose. And from what we can make out in the trailer, Sameer goes around the entire city of Delhi in search of the car. Helping him on this dangerous quest is his friend Gattu, an underworld don, played by Ravi Kishan, and his lady love Rhea Chakraborthy, whom Sameer intermittently tries to woo with his shocking but funny English.
Saqib Saleem looks eerily similar to Ranvir Singh from Band Baaja Baarat, and we hope that this is the only similarity between the two. For more dope on Mere Dad Ki Maruti, keep watching this space!
