There have been
many instances when decriers and opportunists have invested their time in only protesting
about cultural and social issues which do not even affect us remotely. The Hindi Film
Fraternity has always been an easy target.

The song "Radha"
from the Karan Johar directed film, "Student of the Year", has pulled its makers into
trouble. This time around a local court has issued a complaint against a song from the film "Student
of the Year". The film released last month, and this song has been a chartbuster. In
this song the three newcomers-Varun, Alia and Siddharth- takes the centre- stage to make the
song a rage among the youth and have ensured every bit that the song remains at the top
of every chart.

What has been
reported lately is that an FIR by a local court has been wedged against this song. The issue was
raised as according to its detractors the song portrays Radha- the Hindu Goddess- in an
unfitting and incongruous manner. Also the use of the word 'sexy' has raised unrest among the
avid followers of the religion.

The objection has
been lodged in Muzaffarpur district of the state of Bihar. The complaint has been directed
by a lower court at the Sardar police station against the film's producers Karan Johar, Gauri
Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

The court has
directed that a case be wedged against the makers immediately for hurting the sentiments of the
Hindus.

The film stars
Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt, filmmaker David Dhawan's son Varun Dhawan and
model-turned-actor Siddharth Malhotra. The song has been shot featuring them, and thus the
trio, along with Karan Johar who represents Dharma Productions and co-producers Shah Rukh
Khan and Gauri Khan representing Red Chillies Entertainment, have been accused as
well.

Sudhir Kumar Ojha
an advocate is the person who has criticised the song and lodged the complaint.
According to him, the song has described and represented the goddess in an ill-chosen way.

The advocate
complained few days back at the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate-S P Singh. On hearing this
case, the FIR was lodged at the police station. The details of under which section the
complaint has been wedged are elaborated below.

"Section 294-(Obscene
acts and songs to annoyance of others), 295 (deliberate and malicious act intended to
hurt religious feelings and 295A (injuring or defiling place of worship intended to insult
the religion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)."
