Rohit Shetty surprised many when he roped in SRK for his
film 'Chennai Express', instead of Ajay Devgan who was a staple in his films.
People were interested to see how Shahrukh gels with Shetty's unique style. The
result could not have been better as the film went on to break box office
records. Back in February, Rohit denied
any plans for a 'Chennai Express' sequel. Rohit Shetty had said, "There is
no such plan of making a sequel of Chennai Express now as we don't have any
script."
But the director did confirm at that time that he and SRK
wants to work together again. He said, "Shah Rukh and I are planning to
something again but it's too early to comment anything on it." Rohit is currently busy with 'Singham
Returns' which again stars his favorite Ajay Devgan. But after the completion of
his current project, Rohit Shetty may start on his next project which is likely
to feature SRK. A source from the film industry has claimed, "After the
release of Singham Returns in August, Rohit plans to take a small break. Then
he will start work on the pre-production of his next film, which is most likely
to feature Shah Rukh in the lead. The project will go on the floors next year.
By that time, SRK would have also wrapped up a major part of Maneesh's (Sharma)
film. But Rohit and SRK are yet to sit down and work out the details."
Neither Rohit nor Shahrukh Khan was available for comments but whenever the
project is announced it will make news.
Last year there were rumors that Ajay Devgan was unhappy
with Rohit Shetty for not taking him in 'Chennai Express'. But it looks like
all is well between the two as they are working together again. Recently in an
interview Rohit has said that he is in great terms with SRK and Ajay Devgan and
is happy to work with them both. Rohit Shetty commented, "I don't have a wish
list of actors. I am happy working with Ajay and Shahrukh only. But it all
depends on the subject and if I feel there is a particular actor who will suit
a film, then definitely I will work with that actor." Rohit Shetty had started
his Bollywood career as an assistant director in 'Phool Aur Kaante' which was
also Ajay Devgan's debut film.
