Whether they are together or not, they seem to be making
news all the time. Ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone both have established
themselves among the elite of Bollywood. They are one of those relatively rare
people who despite breakup have managed to stay on friendly terms.
Recently in an interview, Ranbir Kapoor has confessed that
he and Deepika are on good terms and for that reason the audience easily
accepts them together on screen. The duo acted together in the 2013 film 'Yeh
Jawaani Hai Deewani', the first film together after their breakup. Because of
this fact there was a lot hype surrounding the film which worked in its favor.
The film was one of the all time biggest hits in Bollywood history.
Deepika and Ranbir's performances were highly praised by
critics and so was their onscreen chemistry.
Their romantic relations had also kicked off on the sets of a film, the 2008's
hit romantic comedy film, 'Bachna Ae Haseeno.' Deepika was quite open about
their relationship and even sported a tattoo of his initials on her neck.
Their relationship lasted about a year and then it
dissolved. Deepika though initially felt "angry" and "betrayed",
later recovered from it. In a 2010 interview, Deepika referred to their breakup
without naming Ranbir. She had said, "The first time he cheated on me, I
thought there was something wrong with me or the relationship, but when someone
makes a habit of it, you know the problem lies with him. Yet I was foolish
enough to give him a second chance because he begged and pleaded, despite the
fact that everyone around me said he was still straying. I guess I really
wanted to believe in him. Then I actually caught him red-handed. It took me a
while to get out. But having done that, nothing can make me go back. That ship
has sailed." Ranbir at first was in denial about her allegations but later
admitted to his infidelity. Both seems to have recovered from it, as in 2013
Deepika claimed that she "shares a great comfort level" with Ranbir.
According to the latest industry reports, the hit couple
will be returning to the silver screen again. Imtiaz Ali, one of Ranbir's
closest friends in Bollywood has signed the duo for his next project, a love
story named `Tamasha` (which previously had the title `Window Seat'.) Sources
said that the film's shooting will begin in locations across France.
