The latest guests to share steamy coffee with filmmaker cum
host, Karan Johar on his chat show, 'Koffee With Karan' is the 'Gunday' of
Bollywood, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. If Ranveer spills the beans about
his rumored girlfriend Deepika Padukone on the show then Arjun speaks about his equation
with his step-mom Sridevi and his relationship with his father and producer
Boney Kapoor.
Arjun divulged the truth about how over the years he and Boney bridged
the gap after Sridevi entered their life and how her mother late Mona Kapoor
was hurt when Boney left her to marry Sridevi. He said his mother has been a
hands-on mom and she had a hard time to cope with the separation from his
father.
"Whatever she sacrificed to make me reach where I am
and my sister, to be able to do things in terms of securing us financially,
emotionally, making us stable and being able to dream of having a better
future. She hasn`t lived to see that," Arjun Kapoor said.
Arjun spoke in length about the disease of Mona Kapoor and
those tough times and her demise and at the same time he revealed how over the
years, his relationship with his father became smooth and added that he has respect
in his heart for his step-mom and actress Sridevi.
"My
mother taught me to be respectful to everybody. My mother allowed me to develop
my own equation with each and every person including her. She never fed it in
me to be a certain way. I went on holidays with my father even after they
separated and my father`s family was along. He has two other children as well.
The dynamics will be complicated. It will never be normal `We Are Family`
concept. It doesn`t end like films do. You`ll never live happily ever after but
life goes on. I`m respectful towards her because she is my father`s wife. She
will always remain that. My father is very happy with her and for me that is
important," he added.
After the death of Mona Kapoor, Sridevi started
to take special care and interest on Arjun and his sister. She also wished best
wishes when Arjun's debut film 'Ishaqzaade' was released and at an event Sri was also
seen hugging Anshula Kapoor.
